AS/A Level Results Summer 2016
Once again Maiden Erlegh Sixth Form students have achieved an excellent set of results at A Level and AS, and Level 3 Vocational courses.
In Year 13 there was a 98% pass rate overall. 81% of all grades were grade C or higher and 55% were the higher grades (A*, A or B). We are particularly pleased that 7% were grade A*, an increase on last year.
The staff and governors would like to pass on a huge congratulations to all of our Year 13 students. We are so proud of you and wish you all the very best as you move on to the next phase of your lives.
Our AS Level students also performed extremely well with many taking a mixture of old and new style examinations. Their 42% A-B pass rate is another excellent achievement.
Huge and sincere thanks must also go to the staff who taught and supported our Sixth Form students with such dedication and commitment throughout their courses.
GCSE Results Summer 2016
It has been another excellent year for Maiden Erlegh students taking their GCSE and vocational examinations. Yet again, we are absolutely delighted with the results which show improvements in many areas, not just on 2015 but on 2014 also.
The headline figures are truly impressive:
· 78% of students have gained five GCSEs including English and maths.
· 39% of students achieved at least three GCSEs at grades A or A*.
· 89% of students achieved at least a grade C in English and 84% in maths.
· 38% of students secured C grades in the EBACC portfolio of subjects.
We are extremely pleased with the progress our students have made over the five years between Years 7 and 11. The new Progress 8 measure looks at progress made over eight subjects including English, maths, science and a selection of others. What this figure shows for Maiden Erlegh School students is that, on average, they have achieved half a grade more than the national average.
We are so very proud of the students who worked extremely hard and made the most of all the revision and booster sessions put on by our dedicated staff. The students thoroughly deserve these results. Congratulations!
