Wellington College University Fair 2022

Venue: Online

Date: Wednesday, 26th January 2022

Time: 6:30pm – 9pm

In order to help Year 12 Students choose their universities and courses, Wellington College are hosting a virtual Universities Fair evening tonight, Wednesday 26th January, starting at 6.30pm. As in previous years, Wellington College would like to invite students and their parents from our local schools, to help them make informed decisions about Universities. This will offer you the chance to hear all the latest information on the UCAS application procedure. Please register in advance using the link detailed below.

We do have a good selection of universities attending online. The evening will be run in the form of a panel discussion hosted by Dr Victoria Gardner, Head of Wellington College 6th Form, where you can ask any pressing questions to the representatives.  Following this discussion you will then have the opportunity to go into break out rooms to take part in the University Expo. Details on how to register for this event are outlined below.

As you will be well aware, university entrance is now more competitive than ever and it is important that both students and parents have a clear insight into what has become an increasingly fraught process. Year 12 Students should have already started the process of drafting a list of universities and this event will be of particular relevance to those students considering Russell Group and other top universities. The list of universities who will be represented by a member of their admissions department are: Bath, Bristol, Durham, Edinburgh, Exeter, Loughborough, Oxford, University College London and Warwick.

For your information, I have also attached the University Fair Programme, although there are some stats which are only of interest to the Wellington College community, there is an abundance of information highlighting the important issues surrounding degree and university selection, the logistics of the UCAS application process and aspects of writing a personal statement.

The format of the evening would be as follows:

6.30pm                  Introductory talk and panel session on UCAS.

7:30pm – 9pm     Students and parents to visit University Expo sessions
