Extra-curricular Activities and Trips

We are a faculty who are as busy with our extra-curricular activities as we are in our lessons, with activities taking place every day. These range from Choir to Samba Band, from Drama club to school production rehearsals and the spaces are always busy with students rehearsing for their Music and Drama performances.

All clubs start week commencing Monday 11 September.
 
Throughout the year we hold regular performances including:
  • GCSE and A-level Music Concert
  • Winter Showcase
  • Performing Arts Showcase with the PE department
  • Summer Extravaganza
  • Whole School Production
  • A-level Drama Performances

We also provide music at whole school events such as Opening Evening, Year 6 parents evening and Presentation Evening.

The Performing Arts Department has also run successful tours abroad, including to Holland most recently.

Recent whole school productions have included ‘Bugsy’, ‘Annie’, ‘Grease’, ‘Hairspray’, ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Shrek’. Our next production will be ‘Oliver’ in January 2024.

Trips to the theatre and music concerts are a regular feature and recent trips include:

  • Year 7 and 8 Music reward trips to ‘School of Rock’ and ‘Hairspray’
  • GCSE Music trip to ‘Wicked’
  • Drama trips to see ‘Woman in Black’, ‘Girls and Boys’ at the Royal Court and ‘The Encounter’ at the Barbican
